Australian wheat industry participants are invited to join the Grains Australia Wheat Council and help shape the strategic direction of the sector.

Grains Australia’s Commodity Councils and the Grains Market Access Council provide advice to the Grains Australia Board, to assist it in developing Grains Australia’s strategic direction to create outcomes of value to the Australian grains industry.

The Wheat Council provides strategic advice on wheat industry matters. This covers industry priorities and outcomes, strategic classification requirements, trade and market access issues relevant to wheat, market insights, market education requirements, and technical market solutions.

Wheat Council membership draws on expertise from across the value chain, including grain production, plant breeding, grain trading, supply chain management, milling and baking.

“Grains Australia’s Councils incorporate a broad range of expertise to help us make sure our work reflects what the industry needs,” Grains Australia CEO Richard Simonaitis said. “The discussions and insights the Councils generate are essential to making sure Grains Australia’s work delivers value for industry.”

Applicants with relevant expertise are encouraged to complete the EOI form before 5pm AEST on Friday 2 October 2026.
