The Pulse Varietal Classification Technical Committee (PTC) is an independent committee of Grains Australia. 

Australian pulse experts that have been appointed to the PTC are as follows:

  • Joe Panozzo – grains and pulse quality technical expert
  • Jason Brand – pulse variety evaluation and agronomy R,D&E, Frontier Farming
  • Mark Seymour – pulse variety evaluation and agronomy R,D&E, WA Dept. Primary Industries and Regional Development
  • Kathi Hertel – Technical Specialist – Pulses & Oilseeds (NSW Dept. Primary Industries and Regional Development
  • Andrew Saunders – trading, receiving, processing and exporting of pulses

In future, this committee will meet regularly to consider applications for classification and is tasked with assessing the quality of pulse varieties against the technical requirements of classes.

The committee will be assisting with developing and finalising the Requirements for Breeders for the commodities that have established Frameworks.
