A new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Grains Australia and the China Chamber of Commerce of Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-Products (CFNA) will strengthen the connections between the Australian and Chinese grains industries.
The MoU will facilitate greater cooperation and stronger bilateral trade engagement between the grain products sectors of Australia and China. The MoU aims to establish a framework for cooperation in the fields of grain products, sustainability, trade facilitation, market intelligence, information exchange, industry development and collaboration on industry delegations and events.
It will also strengthen collaboration between China and Australia on product quality, specifications, innovation, and supply chain efficiency in line with evolving market expectations and industry requirements.
Grains Australia looks forward to strengthening relationships and enhancing mutually beneficial partnerships between the grain sectors of Australia and China.
Delivering insights to Chinese barley and sorghum buyers
The MoU was officially signed on 30 June in Shanghai at the China Imported Grains & Feed Conference 2026.
Grains Australia supported the conference to showcase the value of Australian barley and sorghum and as an opportunity to engage with Chinese customers in one of Australia’s most important grain markets.
CEO Richard Simonaitis shared the latest insights on Australian grain production and supply, highlighting the benefits and performance of Australian barley and sorghum for livestock feed.

The China Imported Grains & Feed Conference is a new event on the Chinese grains industry calendar and aims to connect grain and feed supply chains, share industry information, and promote opportunities for greater cooperation. The Conference was hosted in conjunction with the long-running China International Cereals & Oils Conference.
